A statement from the public prosecutor said that this decision comes following a publication posted on social networks, the author of which authorizes residents to move around in the territory falling under the rural commune he presides over, and to go to cafes between Iftar time and 11:00 p.m. during the month of Ramadan, after the competent authorities have decided to ban all night movement, nationally, between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., as part of the preventive measures taken to avoid the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, adopted on the occasion of the month of Ramadan.
Given that the act mentioned is criminalized by law, and consists of inciting others to disregard decisions taken by public authorities in the context of the state of health emergency, the Al Hoceima public prosecution has decided to open an investigation on this subject which will be conducted by the Judicial Center of the Royal Gendarmerie in Al Hoceima, the statement said.
The same source added that once the investigation is completed, the appropriate legal measures will be taken in the light of its results.
