Francophonie: French-Moroccan Novelist Leila Slimani and Several Personalities Received Friday at Elysee Palace

Paris - French-Moroccan novelist Leïla Slimani, personal representative of Emmanuel Macron for the Francophonie and sponsor of the 2021 edition of the French Language and Francophonie Week, as well as a dozen personalities involved in the promotion of the Francophonie, will be received on Friday at the Elysee Palace by President Emmanuel Macron, on the eve of the Francophonie Day, the French presidency reported.

Among the personalities who will be received at the Elysee Palace are the Secretary General of the International Organization of the Francophonie Louise Mushikiwabo and the academician Erik Orsenna.

According to the Elysee, quoted by the French media, this meeting aims to give "the kick-off" of the preparation of the Summit of the Francophonie scheduled for 20 and 21 November 2021 in Tunisia.

Due to the health context related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the International Francophonie Day, which is held this year under the theme "Francophone Women, Resilient Women", is exceptionally celebrated in a virtual format with special programming recorded and broadcast from IOF headquarters in Paris.
