This initiative, part of the national, free of charge, anti-covid-19 vaccination campaign launched by HM King Mohammed VI on January 28, benefits a group of inmates who meet the required conditions.
Around twenty inmates aged 60 years and over have benefited from the first dose of the vaccine, which was administered by the medical staff of the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) and the Ministry of Health.
Speaking to MAP news channel M24, head of the health care division at DGAPR, Taoufik Abtal said that this initiative is taking place in the safest conditions.
"Inmates in prisons have benefited from this vaccination campaign across the national territory, based on their age category," Abtal noted.
He also hailed the commitment of the medical and paramedical staff of the DGAPR, operating under the Ministry of Health.
"All DGAPR officials have received the first dose of the vaccine and the second dose injection has just been launched," he added.
