Created in 2007, this Prize is awarded each year by an international jury. It aims to promote cultural and linguistic diversity and encourage all forms of cultural exchange between the Arab world and the French-speaking world.
The jury, which met on December 9 by videoconference to choose the winner of the 2020 edition, decided to award this Prize to Younès Ez-Zouaine and Abdelhak Boutaqmanti for their translation from French into Arabic of the book "Jihadism: the return of sacrifice. Resisting terror", by Jakob Rogozinski (Desclée de Brouwer, 2017).
The award-winning translation was published by Mominoun Without Borders Institution (Lebanon, 2020), the OIF points out on its website.
This essay offers an analysis of the phenomenon of jihad through the prism of the human sciences (philosophy, psychoanalysis, sociology, history). It seeks to sensitize decision-makers and thinkers to the need to question the content of Islamist discourse as well as the way in which it is disseminated within society, particularly among the youth.
