In 2020, MAP published a total of 272,714 news stories, which represents a 3% increase compared to 2019 (265,272 news stories).
Regional and society information top the list of themes addressed in 2020 with a rate of 16.74% of the total, followed by economic and financial activities (14.33%), and political, parliamentary, partisan and trade union activities (8.29%).
Sports information accounted for 6.38% of the total number of news stories published, followed by cultural and media activities and environmental issues, with 4.34% and 4.05% respectively.
International news coverage represented 29.84% of stories thanks to MAP's extended network of correspondents. Government activities accounted for 2.05% of MAP coverage, while the remaining categories accounted for about 14.13%.
MAP's effort has also focused on high value-added products (Video, Audio, Photo and Computer Graphics). Video coverage reached 2,510, audio reached 2,737, photographs totalled 31,636 and computer graphics reached 1,885.
In 2020, MAP launched several specialized sites, namely "maptourisme.ma", "mapfinance.ma" and "mapparite.ma."
All MAP websites have recorded more than 9,350,000 visits in 2020, with a particular interest in mapexpress.ma (more than 4 million visitors), m24tv.ma (more than 1,680000 visitors) and mapnews.ma (more than 1,250,000 visitors).
MAP's presence on social networks strengthened with the publication of 23.585 posts on Facebook, 15.149 tweets, 557 posts on Instagram, 528 posts on LinkedIn et 20 posts on TikTok.
MAP's digital daily paper "Maroc Le Jour" published 258 issues in 2020, while Arabic daily Al Yaoum Al Maghribi published 194 issues. BAB magazine enriched the newsstands with 11 issues, while its Arabic version, launched in 2020, published 6 issues.
With regard to the "MAP Intelligence" monitoring service, it made available to its customers more than 2,732 bulletins on different themes.
MAP sent more than 5,550 text messages in Arabic and French and published the yearbooks "Maroc Factuel" and "Nouvelles du Maroc" in four languages, the album of the year 2020 in addition to Verbatim, a collection of quotes by HM King Mohammed VI from 1999 to 2020.
