The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 311,554 while the number of cured people increases to 257,992, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 82.8%.
A total of 77 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 5,090, the source said, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.6%.
These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (25), Marrakech-Safi (10), the Oriental (10), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (8), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (7), Draa-Tafilalet (7), Souss-Massa (6), Fez-Meknes (2), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (1) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (1).
The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,749), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (864), Souss-Massa (453), the Oriental (390), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (360), Marrakech-Safi (244), Guelmim-Oued Noun (141), Draa-Tafilalet (138), Fez-Meknes (121), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (76) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (23).
The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 3,421,980 since the start of the outbreak, including 17,931 in the past day.
The number of active cases has reached 48,472, including 1,048 patients in a critical or severe condition, the source added. The occupancy rate of the intensive care beds dedicated to COVID-19 is 38%.
