The kingdom is represented at this fair, which runs until November 14, by several publishers including the Centre culturel du Livre, Yanbouâ Al Kitab, la Croisée des chemins, Dar Al Aman, Dar Sliki and Dar Tawhidi.
According to the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), the meetings and workshops scheduled as part of the event are being held virtually for the first time since the inception of the fair, in accordance with the precautionary measures taken by the United Arab Emirates to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
SBA Chairman, Ahmed Alameri said that the large number of publishers taking part in the Fair demonstrates that knowledge was and will remain the path of nations to light, freedom and progress.
In addition to the virtual workshops, visitors to the fair, held under the theme "The World Reads from Sharjah", will have the opportunity to discover a host of Arab and foreign writers, intellectuals and thinkers and attend several round-table discussions led by renowned intellectuals.
