At the end of this session (September 21-24), the delegations of the member countries, the outgoing Director General, the Director General-elect and the Secretariat of the Organization were unanimous in emphasizing the efficiency and harmony of the proceedings.
In this regard, the participants praised the mastery with which the Moroccan presidency conducted the debates and consultations as well as its very important role in the holding of this session.
In a closing speech, Morocco’s Permanent Representative in Geneva, ambassador Omar Ziber, welcomed the positive outcome of this session which was an opportunity, he said, to "reaffirm our ability, as a country, to achieve the best results with mobilization, flexibility and willingness to advance the work of our organization, which is a model of what should be any multilateral forum".
He noted that the session was held according to the established schedule and in the best possible conditions, both in terms of participation and organization, with particular attention paid to health protection measures, which had been identified as a top priority by the Chair and the Secretariat.
He also reaffirmed his determination, as President of this Assembly, to continue the meetings undertaken since Morocco's election to this post, by intensifying consultations in the coming weeks, in anticipation of the next two Assemblies, ordinary and extraordinary, scheduled for 2021, according to a clear roadmap responding to the aspirations and concerns of member States.
