Since the launch of the services of this medical facility on Aug. 10 and until June 6, 9,698 people have benefited from the medical care offered by the hospital staff in various specialties.
The hospital's medical staff performed 155 operations in various specialties, including general surgery, orthopedics and joint medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, gynecology, obstetric surgery, resuscitation, repair surgery for burns, anesthesia, pediatrics and general medicine.
It also provided several basic treatments, including 619 medical tests and carried out 1,772 radiation examinations, in addition to the free distribution of drugs to more than 7,678 people.
In a statement to MAP, director of the field hospital, Professor Chekkar Kacem, stressed that this facility set up upon the High Instructions from HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of FAR General Staff, has witnessed during the last week a massive influx of Lebanese and foreign patients who wish to benefit from medical care, in particular the victims of the explosion in the port of Beirut.
The hospital is working to provide all patients with the necessary medical care in good conditions, while respecting preventive measures against the coronavirus, he said.
The medical staff of this field hospital, made up of 150 people, including 46 doctors of various specialties as well as specialized nurses, were able to carry out a series of successful surgeries.
HM King Mohammed VI had given His High Instructions for dispatching emergency medical and humanitarian aid and setting up a military field hospital in the Republic of Lebanon.
