The video footage, broadcast on social media, was accompanied by an audio recording of a Moroccan citizen who demanded justice over "verbal and physicial violence" against the foreign national, the source pointed out.
The investigation was opened on March 30, 2020, into the video footage, the source said, adding that a Moroccan citizen, who is the author of the voice recording and the owner of a riad where the foreign national was living, was heard by police after they had both filed a complaint against a pharmacist and his brother, living near the riad, for violence under the pretext that the foreign national could spread the coronavirus epidemic.
The officer of the judicial police working at the territorially competent security district continued his investigations and heard the pharmacist and his brother, before the procedural measures were referred to the competent public prosecutor's office, in accordance with legal provisions.
