HRH Princess Lalla Salma and the First Lady of Gabon toured the various facilities of the hospital.
The 190 million dirham structure serves a population of over three million inhabitants of the Fez-Boulemane region and the other regions of the North and the East of the Kingdom.
The hospital, which has a medical oncology department, a nuclear medicine department and a radiotherapy one, has a medical staff of 15 specialist doctors, 45 physiotherapists and five nurses, besides eight administrative staff.
It provides medical care for cancer patients through, inter alia, chemotherapy, hormonal therapies, immunotherapies and comfort care such as pain treatments.
HRH Princess Lalla Salma, accompanied by Sylvia Bongo, also visited the House of Life built within the University Hospital Centre, which offers cancer patients and their families accommodation, support and psychological and moral support necessary to treatment success, along with social activities.
The House of Life, inaugurated in June 2012 by HRH Princess Lalla Salma, has 48 beds, a living room, a play area for children, a meeting room, a treatment room, a kitchen, a dining room, a laundry room, a garden and patios.
