The 32-year-old suspect was immediately arrested after arriving on board a flight from Dakar airport, after a check against the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) revealed that he was the subject of an international wanted persons notice (red notice) issued at the request of the French judicial authorities, explained the same source.

The accused was placed in police custody pending extradition proceedings, while the French authorities were notified of the arrest with a view to sending the extradition file, it added.

The arrest of the suspect is part of international cooperation in security matters and the efforts made by the Moroccan security services to arrest people wanted internationally in cross-border crime cases, the same source concluded.
