These agreements aim to develop a common framework by identifying climate-related needs and opportunities for the twelve regions, as well as to benefit from possible support in this area.
They also aim to promote the role of regional councils in fostering climate cooperation with their international counterparts.
The partnership with the Under 2 Coalition offers promising prospects for realizing the full potential of climate action for regions through learning opportunities, sharing of knowledge and technical expertise, and relevant areas for cooperation and exchange.
Through these agreements, Morocco will be represented by all its regions within this group, in addition to the Association of Regions of Morocco (ARM), which had previously signed a memorandum of understanding as a general framework in this area with the same group in New York, on September 19, during the "Climate Week" coinciding with the work of the seventy-seventh session of the United Nations General Assembly.
