The first earthquake shook the area at 3h52min52sec a.m. (GMT+1), the National Earthquake Surveillance and Alert Network, under the said institute, pointed out in an alert bulletin.
Occurring at a depth of 14 km, the quake, whose epicentre is located in the commune of Trouggout, took place at a latitude of 35,136 °N and a longitude of 3,815 °W, according to the same source.
The second earthquake hit at 3h57min41sec a.m., the source said, adding that it occured at a depth of 11 km.
Its epicentre is located in the commune of Ijermaouas, the source pointed out, adding that it took place at a latitude of 35,103 °N and a longitude of 3,826 °W.
