Also in the city of Laayoune, 55 illegal emigration candidates were arrested on Thursday.

On Wednesday, a security operation in Laayoune led to the arrest of 35 candidates and the seizure of inner tubes and life jackets.

On the same day, security services thwarted an illegal immigration attempt to the locality of Tachmatach in the northern city of El Marsa.

The operation led to the arrest of 2 candidates and the seizure of an inflatable boat in addition to 6 barrels of gasoline.

Security services and local authorities have recently reinforced operations to control attempted irregular emigration in the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region, leading to the arrest of several candidates and the rescue of adrift boats.
