Royal Navy Assists 117 Would-be Immigrants, Mostly Sub-Saharans (Military Source)
Rabat - Coast guards of the Royal Navy, operating in the Mediterranean and Atlantic, in perfect coordination with radar stations and surveillance posts located on the adjacent coastline, provided assistance during the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, to a total of 117 would-be immigrants, mostly sub-Saharans, including women and children in difficulty aboard makeshift boats and kayaks, according to a military source.
The rescued people received first aid on board the units of the Royal Navy, before being transported to the nearest ports of the Kingdom and handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual procedures, the same source said.
