Held under the High patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, this event, which brings together generous patrons of the foreign diplomatic corps accredited to HM the King, has become an annual tradition organized on the initiative of the diplomatic Foundation and foreign embassies in Rabat, in favor of the poor with the participation of diplomats, businessmen and artists.
The diplomatic charity Gala aims to raise funds to contribute to the social action effort in Morocco through the financing of numerous non-profit projects, particularly in the fields of health, education and training of young girls.
Speaking on this occasion, ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Morocco, Li Li, commended the organization of this charity ceremony, while reiterating his "high esteem" and "sincere gratitude" to HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa for "the interest and support that Her Royal Highness has always shown in the cause of charity and the strengthening of Chinese-Moroccan friendship ties".
He also recalled this year's celebration of the 60th anniversary of Chinese-Moroccan diplomatic relations, adding that president Xi Jinping and HM the King "highly appreciate the excellent level of the Chinese-Moroccan strategic partnership in their mutually exchanged congratulatory messages."
For his part, chairman of the diplomatic Foundation, Abdelati Habek, expressed his gratitude to HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa for the constant concern about this charitable action.
He added that the funds raised during this ceremony will benefit projects dedicated to women and children.
On this occasion, the shield of the diplomatic Foundation was presented to HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa.
Upon her arrival, HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa reviewed a detachment of the auxiliary Forces that made the honors, and was notably greeted by secretary of State to the minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mounia Boucetta, secretary of State for Foreign Trade, Rkia Derham, and China's ambassador to Morocco, Li Li.
Afterwards, HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa posed for a souvenir photo with the artists and the organizing committee.
The Gala dinner was marked by an artistic program and performances by the Chinese Quintet and Moroccan singers.
More than 400 people, including ambassadors and other members of diplomatic missions representing more than 70 countries and international organizations, attended the event along with members of the government and several distinguished guests.
