The meeting, which will bring together the representatives of Special Olympics programs in the MENA region, will examine the 2011 annual review of activities and the 2012 action plan which will be marked by a series of sports events and parallel activities in the countries of the region, a statement by Special Olympics Morocco said.
The regional program, which includes 23 countries, aims at consolidating the achievements, developing the skills of Special Olympics managers and strengthening cooperation relations with national and international partners in order to improve the performance of athletes and promote mechanisms for monitoring and managing sporting events, the statement added.
The Advisory Council of the MENA region meets twice a year and consists of 15 members.
