"We anticipate that Türkiye's ratification of Sweden's NATO request will commence shortly and be ready in the coming weeks," the same source told the media.
Last week, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg stated that Türkiye remained committed to an agreement it had reached with NATO and Sweden in July to ratify the Nordic nation's membership in the bloc.
Furthermore, the Turkish Parliament has made no progress in ratifying Sweden's membership since it resumed in October after the summer break.
Türkiye had approved Finland's membership shortly after its submission last year, along with that of Sweden.
