Efforts Under Way Northern Morocco to Rescue Child Who Fell into Deep Well

Tamorot commune - Efforts are continuing and accelerating to rescue Rayan, a 5-year-old child, who fell into a well in the village of Ighrane, under the commune of Tamorot (Chefchaouen province).

Five heavy machinery are mobilized and dozens of civil protection elements, local authorities, auxiliary forces and the Royal Gendarmerie intensify their efforts since Wednesday morning to save the child who fell into a well with a depth of 32 meters, said local authorities.

The machines are digging parallel to the well, the same source said, noting that the excavation work has reached a depth of over 19 meters.

Rescue efforts have not stopped for over 24 hours, with the hope of saving the life of the child, said the source.
